This is my finished counter for the shop. I think the design is bright and colourful and stands out.I think adding more texture would help the image by making it come alive. There is some texture on the text, but not much.
I used subtle texture on the lettering. The texture was made from the crayons themselves as I scanned in the artwork. I could have used Photoshop (paint bucket tool) to add colour.
I made the background bright and chose yellow because it stands out and is the first colour people notice.
I used the select tool to do most of the drawing and I used the lasso tool to erase the white and grey colours. I stroked the selections.
I also edited the pictures by resizing the pictures.
I'd took a photograph of the scissors and the mobile phone and then used the images to draw over them with the brush tool. I worked on layers. This makes it easier to work with and then you can select each colour separately from the others in order to change them.
I could also make this into a decorative poster.
